After all the articles in which I have talked about the fact that Mac computers can catch viruses, I’ll continue the series with another one in which I will talk a little bit about the idea that Mac viruses can not affect the operating system.
This is another fake myth that has been spread and I must confess that I’m really amazed to hear this thing. First of all, I have never heard about a single computer virus which hasn’t damaged the computer. Secondly, no matter which type of virus, spyware or malware you are catching, this will definitely prove to be annoying at a certain moment in time.

Just like I was saying in the previous articles, Mac computers have become really famous and I believe that now, after the death of Steve Jobs, users will buy even more these products, in order to show the appreciation and respect for one of the biggest man in the computers’ history. This is why the number of viruses will start to increase, just like it happened with the Windows platform. So, at a certain point in time, Macs will definitely start to be as “infected” as all the other computers which are using the Microsoft’s platform.
Going back to the fake myth that has being spread, this is just an idea that got born from the original myth which was saying that Macs are unable to get viruses simply because these viruses do not exist. Many people were really convinced about this fact and the shock was also huge when they realized that the truth is another one and their precious computers are now threatened. And if you are asking why the shock, I will tell you that the viruses proved to be quite aggressive, some of them affecting the functionality of the computer and others just like the spywares were stealing money by installing an application in the computer and asking the user to pay a certain amount of money in order to keep the computer out of risk.

The idea is that nowadays all the computers should have protection and I am not speaking only about an antivirus, I’m speaking here about programs that can protect the computer from spyware, programs that can be able to make the maintenance when it is the case and also programs that can block the viruses to enter your computer.
It’s true that Macs have been until now “protected” from the infections thanks to the fact that they haven’t been so spread, but it is also true the fact that they are growing day by day in importance and this is a factor that will help the unwanted application to increase in number.
